FAULTY wiring in a sound system caused a car to go up in flames in Portsmouth Court, off Stoke Poges Lane, Slough, in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters from the Slough station were called just after midnight to the scene where the fire had started in the boot of a Vauxhall Astra estate caused by faulty wiring in a sub-woofer.
The fire caused major flame damage to the boot and back seat of the car as well as heat damage to the exterior back of the car including the rear tyres.
There was no-one in the car at the time of the fire.
Firefighters used a hose reel and one breathing apparatus to put out the fire and were at the scene for around an hour.
