A COMMUNITY centre cafe was officially opened by the town’s MP.
Fiona Mactaggart, Slough MP, opened the cafe run by charity Groundwork South at the Chalvey Community Centre on Friday (11).
Around 100 visitors enjoyed the open day, which included children’s activities and a quiz.
Cafe worker Jasmine Ali said: “We have run the cafe for around six months now but we wanted to have an official launch to let everyone know about it. The day was fantastic and the fun lunch allowed local residents to have a taste of the food.” Craft activities and face painting were provided by Art Your Heart Our group, a charity run by adult volunteers with learning difficulties.
