A CULTURAL festival is set to get underway for the sixth year running, with a wide range of entertainment and religious activities.

The 2014 Durga Puja begins on Tuesday, September 30, and will welcome thousands of people to Slough Hockey Club in Upton Court Road over the course of the five-day festival.

Organised by the Royal Berkshire Bengali Association (RBBA), the event includes rituals of worship, as well as performances from dancers and musicians.

Arindam Thakur, RBBA treasurer, said: “We are incredibly proud to have the opportunity to organise this unique event and serve the community. In these six years, we have grown from a newbie to a 'must see’ puja in the UK. We will always be committed to our founding principles of hospitality and creating the right atmosphere so that people feel at home.” The festival will run until Saturday, October 4.
