BASKETS of food were handed over to help feed some of the town’s most in need families at a school’s harvest festival.
Three and four year olds from Chalvey Nursery School avidly watched on as their baskets of donated food were given to Colin Jones, from Slough Foodbank.
They had been encouraged to bring in donations during the last few weeks.
Brigid Wilkes, assistant headteacher, said: “The entrance to the school was full of baskets of food. The children really enjoyed it.
“We have been talking to them about people who have no food and handing over the donations to the foodbank.” The presentation took place on Tuesday (14) at the Ladbrooke Road school.
