EFFECTIVE action is not being taken at a junior school rated 'requires improvement’ by the education watchdog, inspectors have reported.

Ofsted inspectors visited Our Lady of Peace Catholic Junior School in Derwent Drive, Slough, last month, for its first monitoring inspection after it was rated 'requires improvement’ in June.

Inspector Louise Adams stated 'senior leaders and governors are not taking effective action to tackle the areas requiring improvement’.

In the report, published on Tuesday, she adds 'there is not enough urgency or clarity about the actions you need to take to improve pupils’ learning’ and teachers and leaders are aware pupils need to be challenged, but it is not happening enough.

The school has been tasked with making a clear action plan, developing leaders’ skills and knowledge about how to improve learning and ensure pupils are challenged.
