SCHOOL pupils hosted a canapé reception at a country house as part of a museum learning project.

A total of 15 The Langley Academy pupils hosted the evening at Waddesdon Manor, in Buckinghamshire, for 60 guests - including Sarah Weir, chief executive of the National Trust site.

The pupils had spent three months planning it, including working with Waddesdon chefs, calculating costs and designing invitations.

Ashley Mall, one of the teachers who led the project, said, “Working with some amazing students in combination with the Stronger Together project was an absolute pleasure. It gave them the opportunity to broaden their horizons, see the subjects of food and maths in a more professional light, allowing them to flourish and showcase their talents.” The event, on Friday, January 16, will go towards their GCSE assessments. The Stronger Together will support pilot projects across the region to build closer links between museums and secondary schools.
