DISCUSSIONS are ongoing between town hall transport officers and train service providers over congestion problems in Burnham Lane and Station Road.

Ukip Cllr Andrew Mellor asked when residents’ concerns on traffic flow around the area can be addressed at a full council meeting on Tuesday.

A statement from the council said it recognises the delays, some of which are directly linked with Burnham Station.

They have been in talks with Network Rail and First Great Western about making station improvements this year before looking at the surrounding road network.

It added the Local Enterprise Partnership is keen to support improvements at the station and Langley. Segro is also involved in the working group and keen to assist in making the station more accessible.

Alongside the SMaRT project, allocation to improve junctions west of Dover Road including the Five Points junction were set up. Designers will be looking at this junction this year and how it can be improved to increase traffic flow, the statement read.
