A TEENAGE girl was raped in broad daylight in a park after she met a person online who she believed to be a 15-year-old boy.

The 14-year-old girl was attacked in Salt Hill Park, Slough, at around 2.30pm on Sunday last week.

The victim had met the rapist after he befriend her via a social networking site. Police believe the attacker may have lied about his age to the girl.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Groenen, from Force CID, said: “A number of inquires are on-going to identify the offender who told the victim he was 15 years old. However, he could well be older than this.

“Meanwhile, I would like to remind people about the potential dangers of meeting people via social networking sites.” Anyone with information is urged to contact the investigating officer in the case, detective constable Emma Skeen, via Force CID on 101.
