DENNY Bulman aims to deliver a knock-out blow during a night of charity boxing in his bid to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Bulman, 26, will compete at an Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) event at Spelthorne Leisure Centre in Staines on Sunday, April 17.

UWCB is a unique opportunity for people with no boxing background to experience to world of boxing in a safe and enjoyable environment, raise money for Cancer Research and get in great shape.

Bulman got a taste for the sport when featuring at Britwell Boxing, a charity event organised by John Brennan and James Betts back in May 2015, which raised £4,000 for Thames Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Langley-based fighter has taken preparations for the event seriously in a bid to get the buzz back and to prove to his doubters that he can be a star in the ring.

He told the Observer: “To raise money for Cancer Research is most important and I’m doing it to prove a point after Britwell Boxing.

“It was free to sign up and train, and it want to get the buzz back for it again, possibly do another charity night after, and maybe even start a career out of it.

“I have started to learn a lot and want to move up. UWCB has its own championship so I can get into that as well.

“I think everyone knows that I can be in a row now, so this time I want to go for the knock-out win.

“I was a bit disappointed with the draw last time so I want to prove to everyone that I can now get a knock-out.”

Bulman continued: “I’m training a lot harder than the last time. I’ve given up smoking and drinking, and eating more healthy too. I didn’t do that last time. I’m more disciplined now.

“I just want to get the buzz back and the adrenaline you get when everyone is cheering your name. This time there will be more people there, so I can’t wait to get it done.”

Doors open at the Leisure Centre at 4pm and tickets are priced from £20. It is a black tie event.

Bulman has raised over £300 so far including a donation of £100 from his sponsor, Richard Clark from London Grounds and Property Maintenance.
