SLOUGH are the new leaders in Division One of the Home Counties Premier Cricket League after a one-run win against Thame Town on Saturday.

Thame won the coin toss and elected to field first at Upton Court Park with Slough declaring on 271-4 off 62 overs.

Number three Conrad Louth carried his bat through for an unbeaten 106 runs from 90 balls. His second century of the season included 10 boundaries and two maximums.

Louth put on 110 runs with Shahid Yousaf (45) for the fourth wicket, after Fahim Qureshi (30) and Daniyal Akhtar made 85 for the first wicket.

Akhtar made 58 runs from 146 balls which included eight boundaries.

Kalim Khan led the Thame bowling attack with figures of 2-59 from 15 overs, which included the wickets of Yousaf and Shaan Khan (8).

The other wickets fell to Andrew Russell (1-36) and Hassam Mushtaq (1-57).

The visitors reached 270 runs all out off 58 overs in response and for their 10th defeat in 13 league matches this season.

Number four Gamindu Kanishka top-scored with 110 runs from 102 balls, which included 16 boundaries and one maximum.

Kanishka put on 152 runs with captain Michael Beard for the third wicket. Beard made 61 runs including eight boundaries.

Slough captain Zaheer Shar was the best of the six bowlers used with figures of 4-52, which included the wicket of Kanishka.

Yousaf claimed Beard in his 3-45 while the other wickets fell to Ikhlaq Nawaz (1-33) and Ali Akbar Raja (1-72).

The win means Slough are now 15 points clear at the top of the table ahead of a trip to second-placed Aston Rowant this Saturday (11am start).
