SLOUGH have been crowned Under-17 Berkshire Youth Cricket League champions following a seven-run win against Finchampstead at Sonning, Lane, Reading.

Slough came up against a Finch team containing a number of County players but, batting first, put on a total of 144 from their allotted 20 overs with skipper Pavinder Bhachu top-scoring with a superbly made 94.

The champions then bowled and fielded fantastically to dismiss Finch for 87. Humza Majid was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2-13 from four overs.

It is the third Berkshire Youth League title Slough have won this season following success by the club's U11 and U15 teams.
