SHEHNELLA Ahmed will make football history having been chosen by LA Galaxy to assist the club in building a team around the iconic Steven Gerrard for next season.

Ahmed of Slough will also assist the Holloywood club in all football activities in the Premier League having been appointed by director of football, David Kammarman.

It is wonderful and fantastic news for women in sport, and an excited Ahmed said: “To be given this great opportunity to work alongside LA Galaxy is an honour and a privilege. I am absolutely excited and looking forward to this great journey.

“I have not had time to reflect back on the last two years let alone digest this opportunity. It has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride and journey for me.

“The opportunity to be working with such a big club, I have been assisting scouts and managers here in England, I never imagined the Major League Soccer clubs.”

LA Galaxy are no small club having been popularised in England by David Beckham, amongst over big names, and capturing Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

The agreement between Ahmed and LA Galaxy is confidential though it is believed she is now the eyes and the ears for the club.

For Ahmed, it is a world class achievement, and she is now heading to Hollywood where LA Galaxy are based.

She will work with Premier League managers and other clubs in England dealing with transfers and new signings for the club.

Ahmed said: “It is a great opportunity for women in football making history globally. This journey is full of opportunities which I have achieved as a result of the good team that I have behind me. They are my guardian angels, and without them and my parents none of this would have been possible.

“I just want to thank David and his team at LA Galaxy for trusting me and giving me this unique and wonderful opportunity.”

Ahmed made history when becoming the first Asian female football agent for the English Football Association in Britain and the world.

In December, Ahmed topped the 80 most powerful influential business and sports women around the world, and will be given a special reward in Singapore this year.
