SLOUGH Town FC recovered after falling a goal behind to see off struggling Leighton Town 4-1 on Saturday.

Rebels need a total of 84 points to secure a spot in Southern Division One Central play-offs, according to joint-boss Jon Underwood.

He knows the ultra-competitive nature of the division and has challenged his side to maximise their chances of a top-five finish by maintaining their fine recent form.

Leighton capitalised on confusion in the Slough penalty box to take the lead as Kieran Doughty scored into an empty net on 11 minutes.

However, two quickfire goals inside the final five minutes of the first half turned the match on its head. Scott Harris fired hard and accurately across keeper Matt Griggs and into the bottom corner to level the scores.

Then captain Dave Woozley swept in through a crowd of bodies as the visitors failed to deal with a long Guy Hollis throw.

Johnnie Dyer made it 3-1 with the aid of a deflection off the boot of Warren Plowright on 53 minutes, and then scored again midway through the half to kill the game off.

With Slough in complete control, substitute Steve Duff sent in a superb cross which Dyer turned into the goal from close range at the second attempt.

The future of Maidenhead United in Conference South hangs on a knife-edge after a heavy 6-1 defeat at Bromley on Saturday.

A Bradley Goldberg strike and a Pierre Joseph-Dubios brace put the hosts in command before Harry Grant pulled one back early in the second period.

Jay May added a fourth Bromley goal and Goldberg completed his hat-trick from the spot after the visitors saw Daniel Brown sent off for a professional foul inside the box.

Substitute Louis Dennis completed the rout with a goal in the dying seconds at The Courage Stadium.
