SLOUGH Town have announced a trio of new signings ahead of a much-anticipated season at a brand new stadium within the borough.

Joint-managers Neil Baker and Jon Underwood aim to compete in the top-half of the Southern Premier Division table, and have been busy talking with players to improve The Rebels squad.

On Tuesday, Baker confirmed the signings of Simon Dunn and Harrison Gilkes, who both join Slough from Basingstoke Town after their relegation from National South last season.

Gavin James, a Vincentian international football, has also joined The Rebels having played for Maidenhead United last term.

Baker said: "Simon is a classy central midfielder who has spent his whole career at Basingstoke. He came up through the youth ranks whilst also representing England Universities before becoming a key first team player.

"He is an excellent player who also has goals in his armoury and has been highly sought after this summer.

"Harrison can play on either wing or centrally. He first came to our attention when he was a youngster at Bournemouth.

"Following his release last year, he joined Poole Town and was part of the team that almost won the league. In fact, he tore us apart when he played in the 4-0 defeat at our place.

"He joined his Dad, Michael, at Basingstoke in the summer, however following a positive start, injury curtailed his season. Following a minor operation we expect to have Harrison back firing on all cylinders.

"Next up is a quick forward in local lad Gavin James. Gavin was originally at Wycombe as a youngster followed by a spell at Maidenhead, though a serious injury stopped him in his tracks.

!He had spells at Beaconsfield before joining Flackwell Heath where he scored 40 plus goals in their title winning season, which resulted in an International call up for St Vincent & The Grenadines where he played in a World Cup game against the USA."

Baker also confirmed ongoing talks with other players with further announcements expected in the coming weeks.
