A THIEF who stole more than £1,700 from Sainsbury’s in Slough appeared for his sentencing today with a Sainsbury’s bag-for-life.
Lee Demanuele, of The Green, Datchet, admitted burgling the Farnham Road supermarket alongside two others in May 2020 when he appeared at Slough Magistrates’ Court earlier this year.
He stole £1,716 in cash when he trespassed in the food store.

The 48-year-old was due to learn his fate at Reading Crown Court this afternoon (June 25) and turned up with his belongings in a reusable Sainsbury’s elephant shopping bag.
But his sentencing was adjourned after defence counsel Hannah Beer pleaded with Judge Campbell to allow more time for rehab services to determine his eligibility for rehabilitation support.
Judge Campbell agreed and delayed the sentencing to July 23.

She said: “I will adjourn.
“The court has to balance the prospect of rehabilitation against a very serious offence.”
After the sentence was adjourned, Demanuele apologised to the Judge for appearing late for his sentencing, claiming he had got lost on the way to court.
Judge Campbell responded: “You have been here on a number of occasions so you should know where it [the court] is.”
