BUSINESS employees in Colnbrook have expressed their anger as holidaymakers’ cars continue to be dumped on roads near Heathrow.

The vehicles are said to be driven by a parking company working for Heathrow Airport, where the customers’ cars are being taken to residential roads around Colnbrook and Langley without them knowing.

In March, residents who live at Linden house, Slough, who are experiencing the same issue, also shared their frustrations with the Observer.

A woman, from a company on Lakeside Road, Colnbrook, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "Since covid restrictions lifted, the road has been terrible.

“We’ve tried to contact the council, but they just don’t seem to be interested and will only do something if the cars are on a double yellow line.”

She explained they all know the Heathrow "meet and greet" is one of the airport companies going there and dropping their customers off.

“The road is full all the time, all day and all night,” she added.

“Our staff try and park along the road but it’s difficult for them to pull out, it’s just awkward.”

She said she feels the company that's doing this seems to be "dodgy".

"I just feel like this company is ripping people off, I don't know, there could be more companies that are doing it.

"The cars aren't even left in a safe place as there are branches falling down along the road which could damage the vehicles so it's all just a bit sketchy."

Independent councillor Madhuri Bedi (Foxborough), who has been looking into the problem for residents, said this has been going on for a while and that the council hasn’t taken any action yet.

She originally suggested the council writes a letter to Heathrow Airport to highlight the issue as the staff may not even be aware it is happening.

A council spokesperson said: “Residents and councillors have reported issues with car parking in areas nearby the airport.

“We understand their frustrations, however if there are no parking restrictions in place on the road, and the vehicles are taxed, there is no enforcement action the parking team can take.”
