MEN accused of murdering 21-year-old in Slough bought plane tickets after police confirmed they were investigating, a court has heard.

Three men are on trial at Reading Crown Court charged with the murder of Kyron Lee who was knocked from his bike in Earls Lane on October 2 last year before being attacked with machetes.

It is the Crown’s case that Khalid Nur, 20, Yaqhub Mussa, 21, Fras Seedahmed, 18, all of Slough, Mohammed Elgamri, 18, of Windsor and Elias Almallah hit Mr Lee with a stolen Golf before chasing him with weapons.

Two of those men are not on trial - Mussa, who has pleaded guilty to murder and Almallah, who is said to have fled jurisdiction.

Another defendant, Mohamed Abduelle, who the prosecution believe had a hand in planning the attack, has been charged but will stand trial separately.

During the trial on Wednesday (June 21), the prosecution told the jury that three of the men bought plane tickets following the incident.

Thames Valley Police uploaded a news alert on October 3 at 7.46am confirming that they had launched a murder investigation.

Following the announcement, there were several phone calls between the men.

At 8.31am and 8.50am, there were calls between Almallah and Abduelle. At 9.05am, there was a call from Abduelle to Elgamri.

At 10.24am, a screenshot or download was taken on Nur’s phone of the Thames Valley Police alert appealing for information about the murder.

There were then calls from Nur to Almallah followed by Abduelle.

On the same day, the prosecution states that Almallah buys two tickets from London to Madrid for £204 to leave at 8.40am on October 4.

It is believed by police and the prosecution that Almallah is still in Madrid to this day.

It is also alleged that Abduelle bought a one-way-ticket to Marrakech in North Africa for £286 with no luggage added.

However, he instead boards a Eurostar journey to Amsterdam where he was later extradited in Holland.

Nur is also alleged to have bought a plan ticket with Turkish Airlines from London to Turkey. He arrived at the airport but later bought a cab back to Slough.

The men, who have denied the offence, are expected to argue that they have been wrongly identified through CCTV footage.

Another defendant, Yakoub Tarafi, 18, is also on trial charged with assisting an offender post murder.

The trial, which is expected to last from six to eight weeks, continues.
