1. Heathrow Airport bus route announced for Dedworth

Slough Observer:

A new bus service has launched, allowing local people to travel to Heathrow for as little as £2.

Thames Valley Buses and Heathrow have partnered up to introduce Go2Gate in the area, a new demand-responsive service.

Set to launch on Saturday, August 19, the service will run from 3am to 11:30pm seven days a week.

2. Slough woman found dead at her home in Washington Drive

Slough Observer:

A police cordon has been put in place after a woman was found dead in her home.

On Thursday, August 17, Thames Valley Police were alerted to an incident in Washington Drive in Slough at 12:41pm by the South Coast Ambulance Services.

Police report that a female was sadly located deceased at her home address.

3. Mother helps son flee Maidenhead after £99k drugs found

Slough Observer:

A mother has avoided jail after buying a plane ticket and arranging a visa for her wanted son who was caught with £99,000 worth of drugs.

Shazia Asif, 46, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Friday (August 18) for one count of assisting an offender – her son Mohammed – by trying to help him flee the country.

In June 2021, police found £99,000-worth of heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and cannabis in a flat in Woodlands Park, Maidenhead – which Asif had run away from just moments earlier.

4. Sigala fails to show up to Summertime Live Windsor

Festival-goers were disappointed after the headline act of Summertime Live Windsor didn't show up to his set.

On Saturday, August 12, thousands descended on Windsor Racecourse for a festival featuring Classic Ibiza, Sigala and the Artful Dodger.

5. Slough boxer hopes to inspire community with international success

Slough Observer:

Slough boxer Adam Azim has set his sights on becoming the first British-Pakistani undisputed world champion and wants to use his platform to inspire the community.

zim, who is gearing up for his September 2 bout with Aram Fanyan, admitted he wants to follow the path of his childhood hero Amir Khan by being a role model to the next generation of athletes from Asian backgrounds.
