Many tears have been shed as a much-loved pub sees out its last few days.

The Three Tuns Bar and Grill on Bath Road, Slough, is to close on Saturday, June 17.

George Behambra, manager of The Three Tuns, said: "We will be closing our doors this weekend.

"People have been very emotional about our closure and many tears have been shed.

"We need to remember that locals have been coming to this establishment for the last 40-50 years - long before we took over."

To send the pub out with a bang, The Three Tuns have organised two nights of entertainment.

On Friday, June 16, the pub will welcome global sensation Drumline Dhol Entertainment, who will be entertaining pub goers from 9pm. The pub has stated it will be open till late.

To close the final night at The Three Tuns, local DJs Distinctive Music will be at the pub on Saturday, June 17.

They will "keep the party going" while the full food menu will be available all day until late on both days.

Situated in a grade II listed building built in the 1700s, The Three Tuns is just one of two surviving coaching inns in Slough.

It has recently been announced that the site has been sold to an anonymous party.

George added: "We have been there for many years and will miss all our loyal customers.

"It has been very saddening and has taken a long while to digest.

"I guess all things including good things must eventually come to an end."

George and the team at The Three Tuns have seen many Slough locals come in as children and now bring their own families into the pub.

He added that he thoroughly enjoyed his time at the pub and that "there are too many highlights to list.

"We have been known as a sporting pub and have held some huge events over the years," George continued.

"Hosting the Euro 2020 final was a recent one I can vividly remember - an electric atmosphere."

However, it isn't all doom and gloom as The Three Tuns team sets their sights on another venture at Ye Olde Crowne Pub, 1090 Uxbridge Road, Hayes, Middlesex - which is set to open as early as mid-July.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our loyal customers over the years.

"They have made us the successful pub that we are.

"Equally I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff that have worked with us over the years.

"We have made lifelong friendships with some of our customers and team members. They are all hugely appreciated."

Locals are invited to come down to The Three Tuns for its final send-off.
